VARS & KAPER, Ten Years On

On September 5th I will perform during the Summer Concerts for the Residents of Kraków, on the green grounds by TAURON Arena Kraków, with the project VARS & KAPER DeconstructiON.

It is exactly ten years since the release of the album in which I engaged with the music of Henryk Wars and Bronisław Kaper, composers who, in large part, shaped the language of Polish and Hollywood film music. Their melodies now return, filtered through a different time and a different lineup.

I will be joined by Andrzej Święs and Sebastian Frankiewicz, along with two guests: Anna Gadt and Jacques Kuba Séguin, a Canadian trumpeter with Polish roots. It’s a meeting that doesn’t happen often, each of these names carries its own, separate history.

Returning to old material after a decade means hearing it anew, not repeating it, but testing what in it is still alive.
